In Government Polytechnic Katihar (managed under the State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Bihar), campus events and schedules are strictly balanced between academic activities (curriculum, exams, and technical learning) and non-academic activities (sports, culture, and social services).
The primary events conducted across these institutes are detailed below
Academic Activities & Events
These events directly map to the engineering diploma curriculum, technical skill enhancement, and career readiness.
Tech Fests & Project Exhibitions: Annual events like Techinnovative or individual college tech-fests where engineering students design prototypes, display working models (such as automated electronics or civil structure designs), and compete in coding hackathons. sbte.bihar.gov.in/academic-calendar
Academic departments routinely host technical guest lectures by corporate professionals and professors to teach advanced trends like Artificial Intelligence, IoT, or automated manufacturing.
Hands-on industrial training programs curated under schemes like Kaushal Vikas or state skill initiatives to improve technical proficiency.
Managed curriculum excursions where students visit power plants, construction sites, and manufacturing plants across Bihar or neighboring states to witness real-world engineering workflows.
Non-Academic / Co-Curricular Activities & Events
These events focus on holistic character building, physical fitness, creative talent, and civic responsibility.
The annual sports and cultural fest βUmang 2026β was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at Government Polytechnic Katihar by chief guest Shri Tarkishore Prasad, Honβble MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar.
